A number of non-pharmacological approaches that affect various pathophysiological mechanisms of heart failure are being clinically tested. These methods are at different stages of development. This article focuses on catheter-based techniques for the treatment of heart failure, especially catheter-based left ventricular remodeling and interatrial communication. Regarding catheter-based left ventricular remodeling, some systems have shown promising results in carefully selected patients when performed by an experienced team. Interatrial communication also appears to be effective in certain subgroups of patients with heart failure, both with preserved and reduced left ventricular ejection fraction. © 2026, ČKS.
