Účinnost psychologických intervencí v léčbě arteriální hypertenze: přehledová studie.

Aim: The aim of this narrative review was to evaluate the effectiveness of psychological interventions in the treatment of arterial hypertension, with a particular focus on their impact on blood pressure, psychological outcomes (stress, anxiety, depression), and quality of life.
Methods: Randomized controlled trials published between 2015 and 2025 were identified through searches of PubMed, ScienceDirect, and the Cochrane Library. Studies evaluating cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based interventions, relaxation techniques, and stress management programs were included. Methodological quality was assessed using the PEDro scale.
Results: A total of 17 RCTs were included in the review. Most studies reported a statistically significant reduction in systolic blood pressure, particularly in interventions based on CBT and mindfulness. CBT demonstrated the most robust long-term effects on blood pressure reduction, treatment adherence, and quality of life. Mindfulness-based interventions were consistently associated with reductions in perceived stress, anxiety, and depressive symptoms, as well as favorable changes in biological markers of inflammation. Relaxation techniques produced rapid physiological effects, which were most pronounced when combined with cognitive-behavioral approaches.
Conclusion: Psychological interventions represent an effective and clinically relevant adjunct to standard hypertension management. Their integration into comprehensive care may improve blood pressure control, psychological well-being, and overall quality of life in patients with arterial hypertension. © 2026, ČKS.
